Oh My Kingdom for A Roundbale

Well here are the infamous roundbales!! The one is right against the fence and Girl Sonny hogs it all to herself and the other 4 have to battle over the other one LOL.

(Click on pic to enlarge)
Piglette, Cat and the threee 2 year olds have only one between them and seem to cope with the pecking order okay but I couldnt get far enough away to get a better shot, I will try in the morning, although it is raining tonight so dont know how wet it will all be in the morning. You can just see the fillies' ears sticking up on the other side of this one LOL.

They have been having a ball with it and after two days made inroads onto the size of them LOL but we will see what they look like tomorrow.

This is going to be a short post today, not much happening. I am continuing to feel better every day and hope this gloomy weather doesnt hang around too long.

Lori's hoof looks good but I am going to keep her in with the boot on to keep it clean for a few more days so that I know it has closed up and wont get reinfected.

Hope everyone is well ((((((Hugs)))))))

Lori

How much did you say those things weigh??

I asked and then was shown a sign advertising round hay bales here for $80.00 each. I don't know how that price compares but that was it. Straw was $3.00 for a single bale.

The horses look contented. I hope it warms up soon.

Now I got a cold and bronchitis or whatever it is called and back of throat where nose enters is raw. It is going around here.

Have a nice weekend.

MiKael I am not sure how much they weigh, I thought probably 700 or 800 lbs, Larry seems to think more, but it is not the best quality hay so I hope I made the right decision.

Abraham I am paying $40 for these lousy roundbales, if I wasnt so desperate I wouldnt pay half of that normally, abd straw costs between 2.25 and 3 a bale but is only really good for bedding. My horses eat it but it is not really good for them and when I can't get sawdust I have no option but to bed them in straw.

CG it makes me very happy to see them content and not dying of boredom.

Thanks Stacey I appreciate your visits, bear in mind that all of my horses are for sale even the Blue Roan filly (which is the one I thik you like so much LOL)

How much is left? I was shocked at how my two could devastate a round bale. (Both ended up colicking -- hate to tell you that.) Now when I get a round bale I have to put it where they can't get to it and portion it out.

Pigs.

But sometimes we're lucky to get hay, any hay at all.

They look very, very happy.
