7 March 2007

Hi All

I am late posting tonight. Have had a busy day, very pleasant weather but have been editing and resizing proofs for my stock project so didnt get much else done. Still a way to go.
I did however set up my studio flash this evening and wanted to try my hand at all these macro type cropped shots that everyone has been coming up with, so this is a dedicationto and inspired by Talj. It was my husband's birthday yesterday and he got these daisies from his sister so I thought I may as well give them a try. I know this has been done 1 million times before but it is my first time :-) and here is my effort.

And for the horse fix, this is Cat with her baby born last year Eb (DBD EBONY WONDERBAR) when he was a few days old.

In response to Carmi's question, I shoot with a Canon 20D and either a Canon 70-300 IS lens or a Tokina 80-400. Nowadays I use mainly the 70-300 IS (without the IS activated as it doesnt function well when you are panning). I also use my Tokina 100 2.8 macro for most of my portraits and studio work. The two shots from yesterday were taken at the long end of the 70-300 and I still had to crop the frames quite a bit so they aren't as sharp as I would like them to be.

Thanks everyone for checking in.

Sorry this is so short and sweet today, will be back tomorrow with more.

Take care everyone, warm up is on the way!!

Lori

I like the daisy even if you think it has been done before. Your own little touch always shows thorugh in your work.

Of course, I like the mare and foal pic. Black and white tobianos. Right??

Glad to hear your weather was better, ours was worse. I'm freezing today.

Everything has been done a million times before. That's no reason not to do it a 1,000,001 with your own touch on it! I think the flower shot came out great!

The daisy is beautiful Lori. I love this shot and how you framed it. I like this shot that you captured with the horses. It seems very intimate.

Other photographs have a habit of telling me that an object or scene has been photographed in a certain way before, but I still find it a rewarding experience. It is obvious that you do, too. I really admire your floral photo!
