Things are settling back to normality again thank heavens. I took a day off and will get back to work tomorrow. I want to take Cat and Piglette to the pasture we have leased down the road tomorrow and a friend is coming over to help me with Wiggle, to put a saddle on her and see what she knows and doesnt know. I put a bridle and bit on her yesterday and she took it with no problem which is an improvement because she used to be a bit finicky about her mouth, especially when it came to giving her the worming medicine we use every few months. She is looking really good again but still has a way to go with putting all her weight back, one month down and we have made real good progress.

Monday will be another trying day because we have arranged to have two horses gelded, our 9 year old stud Dosie and Blaze the one yearling stud. Dosie is the sire of my filly Lori, Wiggle, Cookie, Cayenne and a few others I have shown you in the past. The other three stud colts we will decide on after these two have recovered. Poor boys, I feel so bad but they will have much better lives than the solitary lives they lead as stallions. They can't be turned out with the other horses and I hate it, so after about 6 weeks we should be able to start introducing them to the other horses without worrying about them being able to breed them. The older stallion is going to make a great gelding, he rides really well and is such a bored horse being stuck on his own all the time.

I have posted two pictures of Dosie today and also a picture of the Douglas Fir that we have growing in our garden that my husband planted about 55 years ago. It was the family christmas tree. It gets these wonderful pink cones which change to brown. I think they are really pretty against the blue sky.

Larry is settling in nicely, thank you so much for all of your messages and prayers, they mean so much to me. We have started his antibiotic IVs which we will be running once a day for 3 weeks. All is looking good and hopefully in about four to six weeks we will be able to look at him starting to get up for short periods, we normally start with half hour stints and build on it from there.

Hope you all have a great Sunday (((((Hugs))))))

Lori

I love the action in the top shot! There's so much power there.

Glad to hear that things are settling down some for you.

Don't worry about my post, yes we had a wreck but we'll both be fine, I think. It's just going to take a little time. I don't bounce like I used to.

Hey Lori, I am so happy to hear things are returning to normal for you guys. I know you will continue to be busy for the next few weeks until Larry gets a little further along.

I love todays pictures. I agree there is a lot of power in that first picture. And the tree branch is spectacular. I love the colors on those new cones. I have always tried to plant a tree where I have been. It is fun to go back by the places I have lived and see how big those trees have gotten.

Thanks for your comments on my blog. It is always good to hear from you and your opinion on things. I appreciate your viewpoints and suggestions.

You and Larry take care, my prayers are with you guys.

Oh by the way, no tornados here yet. They aren't looking for them in our neck of the woods until Monday.
